From pregnancy through your child's fifth birthday, we provide the resources and guidance you need.

Nutritious Foods

Access to supplemental healthy foods including formula, milk, eggs, cereal, fruits, vegetables, and whole grains tailored to your family's needs.

Breastfeeding Support

Expert guidance and lactation consultation to help you establish and maintain a successful breastfeeding journey.

Health Screenings

Complimentary health assessments including blood tests for anemia and nutritional risk evaluations for mothers and children.

Nutrition Education

Learn practical meal planning, healthy cooking tips, and age-appropriate feeding guidance from certified nutritionists.

Referrals & Connections

We connect you with essential community resources including healthcare, childcare, and other support services.

No Cost Services

All WIC services are provided at no charge to eligible participants, making nutrition support accessible to every family.

About Our Clinic

Dedicated to the health of mothers and children in Newport News

The York/Denbigh WIC Clinic is part of the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program for Women, Infants, and Children — a federally funded program administered by the Virginia Department of Health.

Our mission is simple: to safeguard the health of vulnerable populations by providing nutritious foods, nutrition education, and breastfeeding support. We serve pregnant women, breastfeeding mothers, non-breastfeeding postpartum women, and children up to their fifth birthday who meet income eligibility guidelines.

Who Can Apply

Eligibility requirements

We believe in making nutrition support accessible. Here's who qualifies for our services.

Categorical Requirements

  • Pregnant women
  • Breastfeeding or non-breastfeeding postpartum women (up to 6 months)
  • Parents and guardians of children up to age 5

Income Guidelines

  • Household income at or below 185% of the U.S. Poverty Income Guidelines
  • Self-certification of income is accepted
  • Participants in SNAP, Medicaid, or TANF automatically qualify
